研究紹介

Nations, States and International Order in modern East Asia

I am completing a book length manuscript during this visit at Tohoku University, exploring the role of China in the ongoing transformation of international order in East Asia. My current/future research project will focus on the birth of the nation state system in East Asia in the first half of the 20^th century. I will examine how nation building and state building in early modern East Asia complicated the development of the nation state system and drove the shaping of international order in a particular direction.
