Mongolian-Russian Relations in the 17th Century, History and Ethnography of the Mongols
I am working on the study of the ‘illegal’ trans-border relationships between Mongolic subjects of the Russian Tsar and the Qing emperor. This research aims to define the violent mechanisms of suppression against the illegal trans-border relationship organized by the authorities of two empires – Tsarist Russia and Qing China, and the resistance of the local population. I especially focus on the formation of the understanding of border and acceptance of it.
