研究紹介

Sociocultural Anthropology of Siberia and Mongolia

I am a social anthropologist specializing in the ethnography of nomadic indigenous people of East Siberia, the Russian Far East, and Northern Mongolia. I am a senior researcher at the Lithuanian Institute of History, and my current studies lie in studies in environmental humanities, human/animal relations, animism, ethnoarchaeology, indigenous technologies, as well as warfare. My monograph Luck and Ambivalence among the Siberian Orochen Reindeer Herders and Hunters (Berghahn Press, 2017) is an ethnographic study of the ontology of luck among contemporary nomadic Evenki. My current research is dedicated to human and wildlife conflicts in Lithuania. My next monograph is dedicated to Siberian Evenki, predators, and resource extractors' dynamic interactions in the changing environment (to be published by Nebraska University Press.
