We, scholars of the Center for Northeast Asian Studies, strongly condemn (in our capacity as individuals) the invasion of the independent state of Ukraine by Russian forces that began on February 24, 2022. We stand in solidarity with the citizens of Ukraine who are threatened and with the citizens of Russia who are detained for their opposition to the war, and we support the UN Security Council's resolution condemning Russia, which was vetoed by Russia.
