World Heritages and Cultural Resource in Northeast Asia
On 14th February 2015, the Center for Northeast Asian Studies hosted its customary annual symposium. The theme of the symposium was to understand the recent condition of World Heritages in East Asia and to compare the mode of exploitation of their cultural resource among East Asian countries. Guest speakers and commentators were the specialists in cultural anthropology, history, architecture, tourist study, and geography. This collection of reports records the current state of folk culture and is specifically is concerned with how the disaster has affected the entertainment, festivals, local businesses, and customs of the regional societies in the area. The Miyagi Prefecture Regional Heritage Rebuilding Executive Committee delegated the research contained in this collection to be carried out after the coastal areas of Miyagi Prefecture suffered catastrophic damage from the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami on March 11, 2011. The study covered each regional society on the coast of Miyagi Prefecture from Kesen-numa to Yamamoto. This collection of reports aims to present an overview of the current status of the rebuilding process in these regional societies in the aftermath of the disaster, and covers the administration policies involved in promoting the regional society rebuilding process for the afflicted areas as well as the extent of damage to folk culture. Through this investigative study, we have sought to provide a resource for regional societies, government, researchers in related areas, as well as outside parties to discuss and examine the role of folk culture in the rebuilding process of regional societies following the disaster.

Mengwen Daogang（蒙文倒綱）is a triglot (Mongolian-Chinese-Manchu) dictionary compiled by Saishangga in 1851 in China. It is a handwritten manuscript of 16 volumes, the headwords are arranged by Mongolian traditional alphabet. The dictionary is of great value because it had a great impact to the Mongolian dictionaries afterwards. Here all the volumes of the dictionary are reproduced by means of facsimile from cover to cover.
